At becalm we run a range of different projects , these include:
What We Do
Discover
Reports show that up to 1 in 6 children are now likely to have a mental health issue. The wellbeing of young people has never been more important. The discover project is designed to aid these issues and to maximise social and emotional development.
‘Discover’ is delivered in small groups or 1 to 1 settings. We work closely with Parents, SENDco, social workers and SLT to deliver bespoke plans and goals that help support wellbeing.
We deliver tailored sessions using unique and creative methods to help understand emotions, build resilience, manage anxiety, increase self-confidence and learn coping mechanisms to help cope with day to day life.
All sessions are subject to consent forms completed by the parents.
Pacify
This programme is a targeted provision designed for children who are disengaged from education through a lack of confidence or self -esteem. We aim to build a strong rapport based on honesty and trust where we help pupils demonstrate more positive behaviours and help engage with their fellow pupils and staff.
‘Pacify; is delivered in small groups or 1 to 1 settings’ We can help cover the whole curriculum, including English and Maths, We also teach, resilience, teamwork, emotional intelligence, respect and implementing a growth mindset.
All sessions are subject to consent forms completed by the parents.
involve
‘Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn’
‘Involve’ is our programme designed to help with trust, communication, accountability and teamwork skills.
Intended for larger groups or full classes, we implement fun and practical scenarios and activities where pupils have to demonstrate resilience and work together to achieve a goal or success.
emerge
Emerge is our project based on youth work service within Berkshire and surrounding areas.
We aim to create a safe place where young people can socialise, make friends , keep active, feel comfortable, have an identity and be educated on anti-social behaviour.
Our experienced staff and volunteers are eager to build a rapport with young people in the local community and assess their concerns, needs and requirements.
In addition to sports and activities, we deliver fun and engaging workshops aimed to educate and understand the risks and concerns they could potentially face in the community.
extra curricular clubs
We provide support across breakfast, lunch time and afterschool clubs.
We teach a variety of activities to aid mental health, where pupils can learn new skills, develop healthy lifestyles and overall have fun!
